Send your prayer requests & follow Tom & Sue on another personal pilgrimage

Editor’s note:

We have posted their journeys before and know you will enjoy this one as well.  In the last year Tom was diagnosed with cancer, and having had to go through treatments, and a great deal of suffering, is now well enough to travel.  And believe us, this is quite a bit of traveling!

We invite you to follow them, and even more importantly, send them your prayer requests that they will take with them.

From Tom:

Hi everyone:

The subject title for my e-mail that I sent out was “CYBERKNIFE & THE HOLY LAND PRE-PILGRIMAGE REPORT”, which was quite a title.  The reason for it is that because of the CyberKnife Treatments I recently underwent, we are still able to travel on our 8th “Personal Pilgrimage”

I can’t thank all of you enough for the love, support, Prayers and Masses that you have offered up for me.  Susan and I believe that the path we took treating the liver cancer was a guiding light from above because of you.  We won’t have the results of the treatments until the end of June, but everyone at my Oncologist’s Office feels very positive.   I recently had another blood test that was also very positive.  I feel great, other than old age pains, and I continue to put my life in God’s hands.

The CyberKnife Robotic Radiation Treatments were two hours every other day for five treatments.  The machine would shoot laser-guided radiation directly into the tumor from every angle it possibly could.  Over 200 beams of radiation at each session.  It was amazing that during these sessions, the “robot” would change it own lens from a table with 12 lenses on it.  If all goes as it should, there should only be a small scar tissue left after a couple months.  We will keep you posted.

Now, as far as the Holy Land, we embark on our “8th Personal Pilgrimage” this Friday, May 27th.  This year, two very dear friends of ours are coming along with us.  Sam and Johna have never been to Europe (nor on a pilgrimage), so we all look forward to the adventure and spiritual experiences we will hopefully share together.  This year’s “personal pilgrimage” will include Spain, The Holy Land (our first trip there!!!!), Rome, Italy and a return to Poland.

We fly from Miami to Madrid where we will spend 2 days visiting our dear friends at Senora De Los Dolores in Prado Nuevo (Our Lady of Sorrows) and a return to Valle De Los Caidos (Valley of the Fallen) outside of Madrid.  Then, on the 30th, we fly to Tel Aviv, Israel where we pick up a car and drive north to Haifa and Mount Carmel.   After 2 more days driving around Tiberius, the Sea of Galilee and Nazareth, we end up in Jerusalem for 5 nights.

After our time in The Holy Land, we are off to Rome, Italy for 5 nights and some driving outside of Rome to Shrines of Our Blessed Mother and St. John Paul’s favorite retreat, The Shrine of Our Lady of Mentorella, high up in the mountains. (Susan is already preparing herself for the mountainous drive … we won’t let Johna in on the secret until we are on our way!)  We had to register to obtain passes from the Vatican Office in order to be able to walk thru the Doors of Mercy at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome … thank goodness we found in searching online that registration and tickets are required.

Sam and Johna will then leave for Madrid on June 12th and back to Florida on the 13th. Susan and I will head for Poland and Krakow to visit dear friends and more of the Shrines that we missed on our last journey.  We MUST return to Krakow to thank Saint John Paul II The Great for hearing all your Prayers and ours!

In our final preparations this week, all that we need now are your personal Prayer & Special Intention requests for yourself or the ones you love. They can be detailed or private with just a name and basic need.  Please e-mail them to us   even while we are on our pilgrimage.   It is always our joy and pleasure to Pray for all of you and for your Special Intentions.  On our last pilgrimage, numerous Prayers were answered and we would like to share one “SMALL MIRACLE” with you.

MEET BABY KANE …

Meet Baby Kane
Meet Baby Kane

Baby Kane’s Grandparents, Celia & Don Miltz and their Family are very long time dear friends of ours.  Their daughter, Stephanie, Kane’s Mom, suffers from a very rare bone marrow disease.

While on our pilgrimage last year, we received an e-mail from Steph’s Mom asking for Prayers.  Stephanie’s disease was complicating her pregnancy since it took her out of remission and Kane and Stephanie were in serious jeopardy.  The doctor’s weren’t sure if the baby would be able to go to full term.  She was still over 3 months away from delivery.  I asked all of you to join us in Prayer as we continued to Pray for them.  We visited a Marian Shrine … Our Lady of Orcival, France to Pray for Steph and her Son and to obtain Holy Water from a Miraculous Fountain at the Shrine which is noted for miracles related to difficult pregnancies.  As soon as we got home, we delivered a bottle of the Holy Water to Stephanie and we were told by her Mom that she used it each day.   Steph went to full term and this beautiful Baby Boy, Kane, is the living proof of the Power of Prayer and the compassion of Our Blessed Mother.

I ask you all now to Pray again for Stephanie.   Her platelet and blood count levels had returned to normal after the birth last August but they have recently gone out of whack again.  The same medicine she used 20 years ago is still her only option.  This disease is so rare and the research for a cure is not well funded.  Let’s hope and Pray that Mother & Son have a long life together.

It’s time to concentrate on packing, paying the bills and mentally preparing ourselves for this journey.  I wasn’t sure we would get here but we did, thanks to you and your Prayers!

May God Bless Each And Every One Of You And Your Loved Ones And May The Blessed Mother Always Protect You.

Each of you are … and will continue to be … in our Prayers each and every day. Please don’t forget to send your Special Intentions to us … we have already begun our lengthy list!

(If you, by chance, receive a duplicate of this e-mail, please let us know so that we can remove one of the addresses from our Group List.)

Prayer to Our Lady, Health of the Sick

Virgin, most holy, Mother of the Word Incarnate, Treasurer of Graces, and Refuge of Sinners, I fly to your motherly affection with lively faith, and I beg of you the grace ever to do the will of God.
Into your most holy hands I commit the keeping of my heart, asking you for health of soul and body, in the certain hope that you, my most loving Mother, will hear my prayer.  Into the bosom of your tender mercy, this day, every day of my life, and at the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body.

To you I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries, my life and the end of my life, that all my actions may be ordered and disposed according to your will and that of your Divine Son.  Amen.

We hope you will enjoy receiving e-mail updates from us during our 2016 “Personal Pilgrimage” to Spain, The Holy Land, Rome, Italy & Krakow, Poland. If you do not wish to receive e-mail messages from us, please reply to this e-mail and change the subject line to “Unsubscribe.” OR e-mail us at TSMelillo13@aol.com to remove your name.

Prayer for the Intercession of Saint John Paul II The Great
for Thomas F. Melillo

O Blessed Trinity, we thank you for having graced the Church with
Saint John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of your fatherly care,
the glory of the Cross of Christ and the splendor of the Spirit of love to shine through him.

Trusting fully in your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary,
He has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd.
He has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary
Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with you.

Grant us, by his intercession, and according to your will, the graces we implore …
Especially the Healing of Liver Cancer for Tom Melillo, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
